To Blog or Not to Blog ?

To Blog or not to Blog... Honestly, I have a desire to blog, to write, to share the stories from our Farm. And yet, I simply cannot seem to actually start! I think it is because I fear I will have nothing to say...or that the stories from the farm are simply not worth sharing, nor worth reading. However, I think it is time to be a little bolder, and try something new. After all, if you never even try, you certainly will not succeed. Life is one big lesson, anyway. We start, we fail, we try again, and eventually, if we try long enough...or hard enough, we will succeed at what we have set our minds to.

My Favorite Spot on the Farm

I am not sure exactly what to write about today, so I guess I will simply start with this picture of a tree on our farm as inspiration.

This tree, shading that little pond, is my favorite spot on the entire property. I love the shade it provides, the roots it offers as a bench, the serenity of sitting under the branches. I enjoy watching the ducks and geese as they waddle around the pond, and swim, dunking and diving as they joyfully go about their day. I love how this spot has beauty both in the summer, and in the winter. When the snow came and the water froze, it was a place of silent beauty. I rarely get to truly sit and enjoy this spot, but even seconds here are comforting. I think maybe one day I would like to put a table and chairs here, for picnics and fun with friends and family.

Or maybe not... The spot needs no embellishing.

I think I will end here. There are many stories I could tell, but I will save them for another day when I have more energy to write. For now, I'll leave you in the peacefulness of this beautiful spot that God has made. I hope you also have a spot like this, where you can sit in silence and be strengthened as you spend time with your Savior.

"But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in Him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit." - Jeremiah 17:7-8 NIV
